Commissions will be opening soon, but you may reserve a spot now!

Summertime is coming up soon (for me, that's June 16th!) and that means I'm gearing up for commissions. And writing up this new snazzy commissions sheet for you all to see!

Because I'm not quite off school yet, but I'd like to get this show on the road, I'm going to open up some slots for reservation. That is, if you're interested in commissioning me and really want to make sure you get me before other people do, you can send me a note and get a spot on this list! You'll be the first to get commissions from me this summer. I'll contact you when I'm ready to begin working, and if you send the down payment within a week, we'll be all set and ready to go!

(o2.) Offline Customer -- Vest //drafting, sewing
(o3.) *RypeltajaRoll -- Charlotte, Reliam, & Wheelchair //needlefelt, crafting

Allergy warning:
My needlefelts are made of wool, and made in a home with a dog. So, while I hate to scare off customers, if you're allergic to either of those things, my needlefelts may not be a good idea for you.

o- Other Cool Things -o

If you've ever taken a gander around my gallery, there are a lot of nifty things. But if I listed all of them here, that'd be a bit overwhelming! So if you've got an idea that you think I could do, send me a note, and we'll se if we can't figure something out.

Policies

:bulletblue:- Payment -:bulletblue:
All prices are in USD. I prefer to be paid in advance, or half up-front  and half after the commission is finished. If you're looking for a very large commission, like perhaps a very large needlefelt, I'm also open to payment plans over the course of the project, complete with WIP pictures at milestones in the work. Provided, of course, such payment plans are agreed upon in advance.

I take payment through PayPal or Etsy. For icons only I will take points.

:bulletblue:- Delivery -:bulletblue:
- Digital: -
Delivered online once fully paid for, either through dA or e-mail. .PNG and .PSD are my preferred file types.
- Artisan: -
The buyer must pay the price of shipping. I live in Oregon, USA, and generally ship through USPS. Delivery confirmation necesarry. Insurance is optional, although many USPS packaging services come with a gratis $100 insurance. Items will not be shipped until payment is completed and delivery is paid for.

:bulletblue:- A Note on Pricing Policy -:bulletblue:
Generally, I try to price needlefelts as best I can. That said, estimating the amount of hours that a project will take is a tricky business, especially when I aim to make every piece as perfect as it can be. This means, often, my quotes end up being too low. If it turns out that my original quote for a project was too low, I will NOT charge you any more than the original quote. But I can't guarantee that similar things will cost the same amount in the future. Thank you for your understanding.

Hello everyone!

If you're here to answer the questions, scroll down a bit; they'll be in bold. But, if you've got time, why not indulge in someone else's life drama? You might learn something!

Life, like always, has its ebbs and flows. Last term, it dealt me a big giant ebb. In an effort to break free of ebbs (as I generally lose mental/emotional HP without lots of stuff to do) I worked towards making lots of things happen this term. As a result, life feels more like a giant deluge of things to do right now. Which is good and bad, in its own peculiar ways.

Artsy-fartsy news first, personal stuff later.

First, for those of you waiting for art from me (trades, commissions), I am just about done! All I need is a weekend to go home, get some tiny finishing details in, and take pictures. I sincerely thank you for your patience.

Second, I am opening up art trades, albeit on a very selective basis. I love you all, but, as I mentioned, I am quite busy. I like art trades, gives me something to work for, to try and please, without the same type of pressure that commissions have. For me, anyway.

Third, I have figured out the secret to making GLASS EYES! Well, one of them. I am about as excited as I can be. Anatomically realistic glass eyes. Watch out, world. I am just LOOKING for an excuse to use my newfound knowledge!

Fourth, one of my classes this term centers around making a game. Wow! I am excited. I've named it "Liminal" and it'll be about a ghostie. Hopefully it'll be a game full of cool atmosphere and whatnot, but I've only got eight weeks. We'll see. Also, it's written in Python with Pygame, so I'm hoping to be able to convert it later into an internet-based language... but we shall see. If not, you guys get screenshots of choice art in-game. If I have time for the art. Heh heh huu.... I hope I do.

Fifth, I am now a member of :devshinxexchange:, which I'm excited about. I may have to skip out for this term, based on my workload, but... we'll see. I'm super excited for that. I'll feature art I get. In that vein, lookit this cool pic of Pahein ~Ravean made me! Awesome stuff. Go buy her art, it's great.

I'm also taking a life-drawing class! That's super exciting. I was a little scared at first but it wasn't really awkward much. The second we started my inner artist just TOOK OVER and I was all "I will gET THIS DOWN IN ONE MINUTE IF IT KILLS ME AAAARGH." The first class was a great experience and I'm hoping to practice the skills of composition and mood, mostly. Of course anatomy and the like goes along with that, but based on the first class it seems I should start focusing on other aspects of art if I desire to grow as an artist.

Now, for the less-artsy news. I am now proud to say I've been actually hired for a job. Not coincidentally, it is at a library, which is one of the few places I imagined would be decent to work at. And it is! Also all the boooooks. I just wish I had the time to read them.

I'm taking a Religions of India class this term and immediately I am struck by the sheer similarities of religions around the world. I cannot know the ultimate reality, and yet I feel closer the more I learn about religion in general. It could simply be that I reconfirm my wrong biases by misinterpreting the texts, but I sincerely hope that is not the case. So that's why I try to learn. Super fun class either way, though.

Thinking of that, I've come to the realization that I may not be fit for comics art. That isn't to say I won't try, simply that I am accepting the possibility that it may not happen the way I wish it to. There are plenty of cool jobs out there anyway, so it's like aiming for the moon and landing in the stars.

Oh! I finally joined a tabletop roleplay group. Pathfinder, and so far, I am highly enjoying it. I'm having trouble figuring out my character, but some of his interests are close to my own, so I at least have a place to start. Reminds me, I wanna take an alignment quiz. I'm gonna try and do a series of my group's characters (and probably a courtesy character for our wonderful DM). I'm excited for that, and you should be too. Magic and armor and animals! Who wouldn't be excited, I mean, come on.

I also want to finish my needlefelt tutorial. A lot. I just want it to be done! It's a cool idea and I'm not giving up, although it's currently pretty low on my list of priorities.

If you read any of this, at all, please tell me! Write "Rapunzel" into a comment. I'm interested in how many people read my ramblings, because generally journals take me about an hour to write, and, well, yeah, that's a large chunk of time. Though this journal in particular is partially just to get the old one off my front page, eheh.

Questions for You!

You don't have to answer all of them if you don't want to. Any and all answers are appreciated!

(o1.) Do you think it'd be a good idea to have my own website? For projects, portfolios, contact info, that sort of thing.

(o2.) Do you prefer deviations being uploaded a little at a time or just all at once?

(o3.) Would you currently like to commission me? What would it be? Would it be for a special occasion? (Alternatively phrased, should I open up commissions for special occasions and/or commissions that particularly interest me?)

(o4.) Would you consider commissioning me for drawings, pencil/crayon carvings, needlefelt stuff, custom bags (a la Hylian Shield Backpack or Companion Cube purse), or papercutting designs (like Gyaramobile)? Please tell me all that apply! If you have something specific in mind, what is it and how much would you be willing to pay?

(o5). Any questions for me?

Thank you so much for your time! I super appreciate it.

I don't particularly know how outspoken I've been on the topic, but I've always wanted to tell stories in one form or another. I'd very much like to be a comics artist, or a story planner for a videogame, or something along those lines: teaching through stories.

As an artist, I've always been attracted to unconventional mediums. They're super cool, and moreover, a little bit of talent in something that isn't popular means that you stand out. I think a large part of the reason I started doing artisan crafty things is because I was attracted to things that had never been done before. Mainly so that I wouldn't have to 'compete' for attention. While a productive pursuit, it was essentially me running away from what was 'hard': continuing to illustrate and draw, and in so doing putting my art up to 'compete' with all of the other amazing 2-D artists out there, including many of my friends. I want to stand out; so my logic went that art forms that stand out will help me do that.

But now I'm trying to focus in on what I really want to do, which-- in any of its forms but pure writing-- requires illustration, and I find that I simply don't know how to draw too many things. I'm not a 'good' enough illustrator, my illustration patience is not as practiced as my artisan crafty patience, I can't draw backgrounds that well, and I have no real body of illustrative work that counts toward a portfolio.

I find that I am a jack of all trades, and master of none.

And while that's fun, and occasionally useful, it's no way to set oneself up for a career (unless people actually hire such hobgoblins of talent, but that doesn't seem like reliable work).

For these reasons, I am officially deciding that my focus will no longer be artisan crafts. And I'm writing it down so that I'll stick to it.

That doesn't mean I'm abandoning all crafts immediately and forever; I still want to learn about glassworking, I do have commissions to finish up on, and I have a couple of projects I still want to do. It just means that I'll probably be slower on the crafty side of art as I try to re-learn the practice of drawing, and learn painting, I suppose.

My kiriban will still be in effect, but I'm deleting it from the bottom of my journal.

Also today was a bad day sorta and I'm not feeling too hot. It doesn't help that I'm questioning my abilities to draw or get a job or it feels like anything that doesn't directly involve school and due dates. Which there are too many of anyway. Bluuuuh.

To sum that up (or TL;DR):
Less artisan crafts coming from me, and more drawing and comics. Not that I post that often anyway.

Goodnight everyone.

First person to send me a full screenshot of my page closest to the pageview number #24,242 will get a quick chibi copic doodle of something from me! I just noticed it was coming up, so why not, right?

It won't count until the pageview count is AT 24242. So if you get 24243 or something, take it and see if you're closest!

Twos and fours are both awesome for many reasons. I get to learn a lot about that now that I'm in programming courses, ahehehorf.

...For lots, and lots, and lots of presents.

Is Winter nine months from Spring? It'd be about right, huh. Maybe that's why there are always a bajillllllllion and one birthdays around this time of year. It's fun to give presents; at the same time I always go overboard, and more than that Christmas/Hanukkah presents, birthday presents, anniversary and valentine's, they all come so rapid fire it's like it's almost all I do during the colder months is presents! This year I started way early, which is nice; but I'm still filling out my list. And my list is always long...

As always, commissions are progressing, although at a much slower pace than I thought would occur over winter break. I think I only recently caught up all the sleep I'd been missing with college, so now I can actually wake up and be coherent long enough to work without my family bothering me.

There are deviations to be posted that are waiting on Christmas, and there are a couple of final projects I made that need pictures and editing and such before posting. I always feel bad when I can't upload much, but I do have things to post-- just not right at the moment.

I'm hoping to start on a couple of personal projects, however. First is Duality OCT; I would love to enter that and hone my comic-making skills. Plus, who doesn't love anachronistic Porygons and cat-llama Deinos?

Second, a couple of cosplays.

For the Homestuck out there I'm planning on attending Portlandstuck's Winter Formal; I've never really been but I've got a couple of friends who go and they have so much fun. Plus I want to cosplay. So I'm making a Bec Blanche. I've ordered a white zentai suit and a pretty but character-fitting dress; all I need to do is make the head and a wingscarf (which will both look great hopefully). All the materials are at my disposal, but just need to be finished. That's super exciting.

And... for those non-stuck... Have you seen Rise of the Guardians? No? Go see it. It's gorgeously beautiful. If all goes as planned, after making Bec Blanche... I want to cosplay as Toothiana. I've set my heart on it. Not only have I set my heart on it, but I've set my heart on doing it well-- with actual, honest-to-goodness iridescent feathers, everywhere. So far, the internet shows only two Toothiana cosplayers-- one went with goose feathers, which... eh, they're processed goose feathers, it's... fluffy; and the other went with lots of ruffles. I want actually iridescent feathers. I know it can't be a perfect match, but I've found Lady Amherst feathers to be a decent kind of feather for the base. Additionally, I've ordered the materials required to begin making the wings-- I'm planning on fantasy film over deepgreen handcut cardstock with additional buffing (wire, etc) on the leading edges. I'll drive myself nuts sewing the feathers in one by one, but by God I'll have a costume that'd be hard to beat! I know where I can get contacts and it seems like there are similar enough eyelashes out there and just in general I am going to make this happen somehow.

*ahem* So anyway I'm hoping some christmas money will be able to go to the purchase of feathers for that gorgeous monstrosity of a cosplay.

In other news, it's ten days until Christ- eeeek ooh I better get my bum in gear! Tomorrow I arise and begin serious work!

Toodleoo!

First, let me say, I do have many more glass creations to show everyone. Sadly, most of them are Christmas presents, so I am unable to share until gifts are given and such. (Hint: Many of them are Pokemon and critters! It's super cool.)

Second, art trades! The glass studio I've been frequenting is associated with my university. As a part of being able to work there for relatively cheap, they ask that I do not sell things. That is fine by me-- but I'd love to be able to share glass art with people who aren't necessarily close to me. So, I'm opening up art trades! I will take 3 glass-art trades at a time. One note about this, though-- glassworking can be pretty expensive, and I pay to be there by the hour, plus I pay for materials. Ideally, an art trade would be for some physical piece of art, and we'd both pay for shipping. If you're only good at digital art, though, don't be discouraged. I'm just saying that making this stuff is a monetary effort for me, so I want something that I really want in return. Either way, I'd rather spend money to give someone their OC in glass or something than just make a lot of boring marbles. Also, I will only be able to make glass things while I am here in the dorms-- so not over winter break, and my winter break is really long.

Third, for commissions, potential commissioners should take note. I've removed my commission pricing list as a deviation, because it is sorely outdated. Having struggled with pricing dilemmas for a long while now, I have determined that my pricing will be a function of my time: that is, I work seven hours on a project, I get seven hour's worth of pay. There is simply no other solution I can offer that will make me even want to offer commissions anymore. Right now, I must focus my energies on school, so I am not accepting commissions. I imagine that I will re-open commissions at the beginning of summer, but there is a slight chance I may be able to open a few slots of commissions during Spring. In any event, prices will be higher, so be aware.

For my current commissions, I will be working on them on the aforementioned long winter break. I suspect I will be able to finish before the break is over. If not, be assured I will finish your commissions before I open up commission slots again.

In other news, I have just acquired a gorgeous set of Copic Markers, which I've desired and saved up for for quite a while. Gorgeous, I say. I got the anniversary pack and some basic greys and greens to complement the strong array of colors. I've doodled a bit with them, but only really *drawn* one thing, so I don't have much to show for them yet. Once I get home to a scanner, I'll be able to show you guys that.

College is going well. I have a couple of final projects that are art-related, so I will be able to post those eventually. My family is in the process of upgrading our camera; so until I have a camera of decent quality, I likely won't be taking any stunning pictures of art or anything, really. I might get scans of some art and some small-resolution preview pictures of my other projects, but... yeah.

Also, I want to cosplay as Princess Cadence. This is something I really want to do. I'm planning on how to make custom crystals and jewelry already, I have an entire design, I learned the other day how to make wigs from scratch in theory... I think this'll be my magnum opus of the summer, really. I hope it will. That'd be so cool. This design is also far more wonderful than any other Cadence cosplay I have seen, and would be my second attempt at a dress. This one would be far more princessy than my previous dress.

So, yeah, I think that's it as far as updates go.

Have a wonderful day,
:damphyr: Pahein

Glass Art Giveaway (and other things)

Journal Entry: Wed Oct 10, 2012, 11:16 PM
This link leads to my tumblr! [link]
I'm hosting a glass art giveaway over on tumblr because a.) no one knows about me on tumblr and b.) it'd be a heck of a fun giveaway to do, as I've just discovered glass art. So signal boosts would be awesome. c:

As far as college-- it's a lot of work. A lot a lot of work, and stress, and just generally I'm seeking an escape from the stress anywhere I can find it. For those of you who know me from HPM, this is one of the reasons why I stepped down from the modding position there.

Otherwise, between avoiding schoolwork and doing it, I'm working on commissions and other art and starting my comic (which, so far, has been terribly depressing and I hope to kick the depressing habit soon) and taking glassworking classes and generally keeping myself busy enough to not think about how I'm procrastinating too many things.

Oooh! I'm helping out at a 24 Hour Comic event this year, so I might get some good doodle time then, while I have downtime. I'm pretty sure I will have downtime.

That's a quick update on my life, and hopefully I can get photos of artisan crafty things soon. If not, then... not. Oh well.

Have a wonderful day,

It's Coming

Journal Entry: Fri Sep 7, 2012, 3:46 PM
The end of summer is nigh! Which means, in a little over two weeks, my artiness will drop very sharply. Or, at least, how much I upload.

Racing to get my commissions done, and various other projects I'd like finished before I leave for college. I have too much I want to do, but in the end at least my backpack is done.

Other than that, I guess not much to update with, other than I'm finally playing Okamiden and I LOVE all the partners so far. Nanaaaamiiiii and Kuuuuniiii why'd you two gotta leave~~~

Good Mornin'

Journal Entry: Fri Aug 24, 2012, 3:51 AM
Good moo~ornin'
It's great to stay up late
Good mornin'
Good mornin' to you~

Oh man. Life swirls and whirls and goes so fast all the time. Like, even when it feels like it's slow, it's actually fast. Something I should keep in mind more often.

My corner is such a mess right now. Because I'm moving off to college, my sister gets my old room, which is much spacier and stuff. But she wants to paint it, so now my stuff's outta the room but since her stuff is still in her old room that means there is no space for my stuff. And it's engulfing all of the living space in the house and it's aaauhghg so messy. Whiiiich, is why any progress on things will be slow for the next couple of days.

I do have photos of things to take and upload in the meanwhile, though, so all is not lost. Among those things include a certain cute lil' Pabu and some way old crafty-projects I just never got around to taking photos of.

My 'casual' Link cosplay is coming along swimmingly. Everything I need but the backpack-shield is done. The detailing on the backpack isn't as... sharp as I'd desired, but all things considering, it could have been a lot worse. It's almost finished except for finding a couple of materials to stiffen the back and such. And then I get to figure out how to sew it all together... which will hopefully end up alright. Hopefully. My glob if it doesn't I think I may shed a tear. On the other hand, it would give me an excuse to buy different materials and try those out...

Eh. It's up to the Goddess now, I s'pose. Perhaps I should find a big bird statue to pray at.

Anywho. Mess is eating away at my sanity, so until that's finished with, I promise nothing. Progress will definitely still be happening, but perhaps at a slower pace? Although my progress is not terribly easy to keep tabs on for anyone but me... I suppose...

Well! Have a wonderful day~

Endeavor

Journal Entry: Thu Aug 9, 2012, 12:30 AM
A strange function of time: the more content I am, the faster it flows...

And the sadder I am, the slower it goes.

My life is jam-packed recently; things happening and whatnot. Lots of getting ready for college, for moving out... and then chores, of course, doing those keep me quite busy usually.

And of course commissions are happening. Toothless came out wonderfully, and this dogsona is looking pretty beautiful so far. I got a mottled gray from one of my favorite wool producers-- my local store sells some of this wool in four ounce balls of roving, and it comes from Holland, and it is simply the prettiest stuff. I'm excited to be able to work with it again; the stuff that went onto the Mews was their Pink Lemonade color. Simply gorgeous, the dimensionality of it.

Harvest Pokemoon is going along great. Lots of submissions; I'm glad people are having fun.

I found some earrings I can convert into Fireshield earrings for my 'Casual' Link cosplay, which is very exciting. I also found a lot of other cool things for projects in the future. I collect odds and ends just so that I can make them into something; I have everything from miniature doilies to discarded earrings and polished quartz waiting for the day I can devote my time to them.

My new glasses should be coming in soon; along with the boxes for sending out the commissions. Hopefully those won't be too long in coming, anyway.

Recently finished all episodes of Dr. Who on Netflix, so now I'm watching MLP:FiM again. I forget how... utterly wholesome that show is. It's such a nice change of pace, from my usual fare of dramas. And the animation is so nice.

*1wordinsane is taking a break from the computer, which is looking like it's pretty good for him. I miss him, but y'know, whatcha gonna do. It'll probably be worse during the school year.

Got plans with friends, things to do, going to the beach this week, I think, if my parent's murmurings were correct.

Strangely, Skyrim lost a lot of its appeal to me recently. I dunno, I can still play it for hours on end, but I just... I mean, I go around killing things for people who kill people or I kill people who kill people who are killing because of killing. ...Or something like that. And the people are just so... not people, you know? You have this whole, rich, diverse land and history and conflicting cultures and everything. And then the common people are just that: common. Not one person on the earth is completely common, and if they were, it'd make them extremely rare. It just-- there's no point protecting a land whose people are so... not people.

I wanna go see Brave with my mom. If I can get her to, anyway. I'll be a blubbering mess I bet. Movies I love are way more emotional the second time through...

Got myself a design art trade, which I need to do. I'm also making a couple of adoptable designs. Which, I really actually kinda adore; they're really awesome. But if I can sell them, I will. I'm not going to use them.

Still slowly working on the self-inserts. Pokemon-style is so difficult. I may just drop it and get the darn thing done.

Various other projects on the backburners. For future reference for anyone interested, I want to make Kuzco llama, Stitch (life-size if I can find a good reference), Golden-hair Rapunzel, and Merida. Merida has such glorious hair.

Also I need to find myself a good pair of headphones to alter. Yup. Gonna make me some Sollux headphones. Patron troll, n' all. Although... according to [link] ....

Rising: Piscies (Feferi)
Sun: Gemini (Sollux)
Moon: Scorpio (Vriska)
Mercury: Gemini (Sollux)
Venus: Cancer (Karkat)
Mars: Taurus (Tavros)
Jupiter: Scorpio (Vriska)
Saturn: Piscies (Feferi)
Uranus: Capricorn (Gamzee)
Neptune: Capricorn (Gamzee)
Pluto: Scorpio (Vriska)
North Node: Scorpio (Vriska)

WHICH MAKES  4 Vriska, 2 Sol, 2 Fef, 2 Gam, 1 Tav, 1 Karyessss I love him. Average (if Aradia=1 and Fef=12) iiiis... (32+6+24+20+2+4)/12 = (88)/12 = 7.3 which is closest to Terezi. No surprise there, it is an average. :,D

Anyway that was interesting. Lots of things are interesting in the world. Many many things.

And it feels like weeks have happened in the place of days.

Anon is welcome - Edit

Journal Entry: Wed Aug 1, 2012, 12:06 PM
So I spent a lot of time writing this and then I accidentally refreshed the page, so I'll get straight to the point. Some friendly anonymous gave me a subbie, so this journal was born! It'll be free for use as soon as I can figure out how to make submissions for journals.

It's not the best, there are some troubles with the mood, so.... well, it's pretty at least? I like it anyway. =w=

Commissions are closed for now. I won't open them again in the near future unless I finish them all before school starts and there's enough time for one or two more, or if I find I have enough time during school. If those don't work out, winter break is the next time I might be able to take more commissions on.

As for commissions, if you'd like to check my progress, please check the bottom of the journal. If I'm currently working on your commission, you may ask for work-in-progress pictures at any time.

Other things are important but less so, so I'll leave them for now. Enjoy the pretty journal folks!

:damphyr: Adopt

EDIT

I figure I've been doing a lot of uploading things lately, and since it probably won't hurt just to update this one since I've... not got much to add, but hey.

I'm excited for my Hylian shield backpack, so much. It's going to be a lot more hard work than I anticipated-- didn't know I'd have to hand-sew a lot of this detailing, for one, but at least it'll be less than embroidering that Din-darned dress-- but Iiiiii think it'll end up looking amazing. I'm going to be working on it after my commissions during most normal days, or on the day off I take after each commission is done. Which, by the way.

First out of five commissions is finished! I'll be taking photos of that tomorrow and starting in on the next one. Also, I've got most of the colors I need for everything, which is rather awesome. That and... well I do need to order some shiny fiber.

Anyway. For the minuscule amount of people who will read this, cheers! I'm a workaholic!

Any questions? Ask! In a comment, a note-- I don't care. Answering questions is what I'm good at.

I do. How about you guys?

First off, to all of my new watchers and anyone who's stopped by because of my DD, thank you so much for the attention. :D

Second, my entire life has been pushed back a couple days now. Responding to all these comments is like a full-time job, jeez! A fun job, and slightly more time-consuming than simply deleting them, but eeeeh I like comments so I always want to encourage more of them.

Third, commissions are still open as of now. As much as I'd like to continue my summer gallivanting around and doing all the derp art I want to, I do need to help save up for college.

Fourth, I have some blast-from-my-past art to pacify you guys, including but not limited to Pokemon splice sprites.

Fifth, new watchers, my gallery and my uploads are all over the place. Mainly I am a Pokemon fan, and I'm the mod of a pokemon roleplay group, so you can expect a lot of that. That being said I do love all sorts of other things and depending on my mood/creativity level/drive I can bring a lot more to the table.

Another thing, new watchers, is that I've had my kiriban up for a long time now, and you're still eligible. At 100k pageviews, I am giving away a free life-size needlefelt under 2'11". Now, for everyone, before this point I said Pokemon-- but then I realized that's not everybody's thing, man. So while I would prefer a pokemon, I've opened it up to any character. But by that I mean like movie character or anime character or something. Something people would know. Stitch, Momo, Wheatley... As much as I'd love to offer fursonas in this, if you want a fursona felted you'll have to commission me. ;)

And then there are some random observations following this sentence. Haha, oh my jeez, look at my pageview graph guys, that's crazy. Also, my LoZ useable cosplay is coming along GREAT I'm pretty excited. Goodwill is my friend. Also math is my friend. Math is that one friend that punches and beats you down but you love them anyway even though it hurts. :,D Also, Dr Who talk here, I love how they sent Rose off in the revamp season 3 finale. Maaan. Except sadsauce for our doctor. Skyrim continues to be a menace for my productivity. I also hate the Forsworn. They are strong and try to kill me but I'm like a Breton travelling with an Orc and now a dog. Stupid terrorists of Skyrim. Everyone's a terrorist in Skyrim. Jeez. Violent game, huh. Oh well.

And that concludes possibly relevant facts of my life, folks.

Have a good day!

... in my life. :B

It's not like anything important has happened, like someone dying, just, this year's had a lot of change in it for me. First relationship, first lead female in a play, new art forms, selling art, a lot of huge projects coming to an end right now, high school just about finished, headin' off to college, becoming a voter, and...

My dress is done. Prom is tomorrow. And... that was 140 hours or so of work, probably, spread out in sporadic bursts over a year.

It... It's finished, come to a conclusion. So, too, have many other parts of my life. Alone, the fact holds little meaning. "The dress is completed." But, like my other projects that last too long, this has literally become the effort of blood, sweat, and tears. And that sentence is almost as delightfully freeing as it is scary and bizarre.

And it's over; it's done. Yes, there's tomorrow, making sure it looks nice through pictures and through showing it off, hoping myself to bits and pieces of worry-cubes that it will make it through the night, but...

I dunno. There's this whole wide world out there, and I know instead of exploring a lot of it I will be holed up in my room working on my next big project. Not to say I won't explore, just... creation is such a thing in my life. Not even creation, but the melding of ideas; the spontaneity that allows me to say "I want to make a life-size Mew awesomely" and do it.

So, sort of depressing.
But sort of awesome, too, because honestly, all the world I need-- even, all the world I can handle-- is in the small little things, lying right around me. I can walk down the same road  hundred times, and I have, and every time I notice something worth noticing. Something beautiful and precious and something only I notice in that moment.

A sliver of sky through the clouds. Raindrops on a rock that look like a smiley face. Moss in the concrete cracks. A crow that I caw at and who stares at me intently for a few seconds in confusion. I may be weird, slowing down randomly on sidewalks, singing to myself softly in the rain, but the familiar is more precious than the new in that meaning is held in the smallest of things.

Not to say new isn't cool. For you guys all my art is new, when you first see it: and for that reason it's amazing.

But for me they are memories, children, old ideabunnies who managed to leap out of my mind's hutch and into the world. To me, for that reason, they are amazing.

So, thank you world, for not killing me off just yet. For allowing me to grow and create and do and think and be the way I am.

Whatever this new epoch of my life might be, let it be just as wondrous, and never let me forget the memories that make the old one precious and amazing.

p.s.: I adore MLP, I want to make Celestia and Philamina needlefelts... and maybe someday... a life-size needlefelt Rarity? I'm insane.

p.p.s.: Can anyone say "Hylian shield"? Next sewing project on the table-- don't worry, it's also something else, but more awesome than you'd think for a fabric Hylian shield.

p.p.p.s.: Skeleton pencil is almost finished-- once that's done I've got quite a few things to upload. I must like binging art, even though that's not such a good idea. Sorry for all the postscripts but they don't fit with each other and they don't fit well into the journal. ^^;

So I suppose I should update you guys on some of the goings-on in my life recently, since I haven't in a while and apparently some of you read this which makes me feel like quite a special duck. Also because the goings-on affect my art posting and various other aspects of my dA activities.

First of all, thanks a bunch for all the support and feedback on Gyaramobile. ouo I didn't imagine it'd be all that popular but I guess I have a lot of active Pokemon watchers which would make sense anyway. I might take commissions for those kirigami patterns over the summer for other pokemon and creatures and stuff... with the understanding that I can re-sell the pattern for the same price. If I can find a more durable material to make them out of that doesn't kill my hands too much, I might sell the finished creatures for those of you who lack exactoknife skills. But since paper isn't really durable, I'm not going to bother with doing those. So, maybe plastic something. I dunno, I'll have to see about that.

For those of you who I'm note-rping, or trying to: I apologize for my eternal lateness. HPM guys usually when I feel like rping with you I end up doing work for the group instead, so I don't feel too guilty and I'm sure you understand and all, but throwing it out there anyway because I would very much like to rp if only I had the time. Hmmm you know what you guys that have my skype can bother me there for rp if you want, I'm way better when there's the dinging and a person waiting.

My dress will never be done at this rate, never ever but I still put my time into it
It's like a time black hole, seriously

Working on art trades and contest prizes promised, albeit very very slowly. Sorry about that, but life just has a way of saying other things are more important. I always think I'll have time in the future, and I don't...

Currently, as far as important real-life troubles go, I'm really stressing out over colleges, which besides putting me in giant random funks is driving me to do crazy things to avoid having to think about it, for example, starting Homestuck and essentially reaching the end of the Fourth Act in the span of one night (That's a little less than 4000 comic pages, some of which had a lot of reading and some of which had unnecessarily confusing and long flash movie shorts).

Other current fascinations include trying to carve a skeleton out of pencil lead and designing the perfect dragon that could legitimately exist today and also could explain every traditional dragon myth. Both also related to college-stress.

Recently was read The Little Prince, which is essentially the best book in existence and if you haven't read it you really should. It's short and there are translations on the internet so there is no reason why you shouldn't. Weird story, adorable, with wisdom to boot. What's not to love?

#Harvest-Pokemoon occupies an ungodly amount of my time, and it's only ungodly because it's very tedious work. But I'm glad you guys are enjoying it, at least, a lot of you seem to. So I can't complain. Overwhelmingly note rpers, though, which seems to be causing some tension... I must say, I'm more of a chat rper myself. But ah, to each his own. Lots of work to catch up on and stuff still, though, because I've never had a group like this before and I didn't know I didn't have enough planned out. Oh well. That's why I'm staying up tonight because I can woooork and tunnel through this stuff like a Diglett tunnels under Mount Moon. Also I have homework to finish but that's a different matter entirely.

Before I get back to working on stuff, though, I will leave a few questions for you guys.

First, does anyone know of any good mmos that aren't region-locked and can be played on mac and pc? Or any good browser-based mmos?

Second, has anyone besides me ever played Cubivore, or even heard of it? Out of curiosity. Also if you have do you know where I can find those nifty little Cubivore action figures (because that would complete my obscure fandom life)?

Third, and this one I'm iffy on, how many of you would like to see me cosplay? I've done a few eh ones before, but I have some really nifty ideas for, ah, cosplay hoodies that would be a lot of seamstressy-work I'm unused to and expensive material-wise anyway.

Fourth if you have anything you'd like to see more of, please go ahead and tell me? I have so much random stuff in my gallery I have no idea what any of you like best or follow me for and stuff, so if I ever get a premium again (which I'm not paying for even though I want to because aaaah expensive for a girl without money!) this would be the sort of thing I need to make a poll about. Along with making a journal because I still have an awesome one in mind.

That's it for now, I suppose, so have an awesome day. :meow:

I feel bad for ranting. But... I think part of it is a good message, so.

Just be a good person. Seriously. Don't float along life reacting. Think about what you are doing, and if you really want to do it because what you do can hurt people. And often, it does. If you insult someone, please realize they are a person and they won't like that. It's not going to get you anywhere, unless you want that person to dislike you.

I never thought that I would have to spend hours each on individual problems before #Harvest-Pokemoon opened, but I have. Already. Ones that have nothing to do with actually helping the group get up and running. Oh, nooooo. Nothing like that. It's drama. Drama is already infecting my little group. I wouldn't be surprised if there were more problems, and I can tell that the problems that I've been dealing with aren't over yet, and it just makes me angry and sad at the world a bit.

If I were less pessimistic right now, I guess that'd be a weird compliment from Fate? "Oh, here, have people that like your group and by the way that means draaa~aaamaaaa"

It's been a long day and I'm tired but I'm trying to deal with it, and for those of you who find this important enough to read my sad excuse for a rant journal I thank you. I want to impress upon you the vast power you have in your freedom. You can do anything you want to.

But you know what? So can I. And if you insult me or my friends I could be right there insulting you back and hurling "yo momma"s at you.

But I'm not going to. Because I know I'm better than that. And because I know somewhere deep down inside you are too. We're all better than that.

That being said I cannot spend my entire life helping you figure that out! So I'm just going to try to be a good person and treat people like people and I hope you guys will too.

Know that you are loved and what happens on a single group on the internet should not matter to you at all. It's one group, among at the very least millions of others.

I truly care for HPM, so I'll continue to try. And I truly love the person that you are, because that person is wonderful and awesome. But when I can't see that awesome self of yours, when you won't show it to me or to others because you're scared or stubborn or both.

I can't help you with that.

And if you can't show it enough, then, yeah, I'm not going to let you be disrespectful to me or Zaka or whomever else is involved if I have the power to stop you.

On the other hand, show it and be fine and happy and I'll be able to show you my love in a wonderful melting pot of "LET'S BE HAPPY!"

I dunno. I'll just sit over here and work on stuff now.

So. Uh. Thank you for reading, if you did.

And yes! You are loved. Remember that.

Today I learned that one of our senators is heading up the fight against SOPA and PIPA and other bills that would warp the internet beyond recognition. Go Wyden! Whoooo~!

Me, I'm not doing the blackout, but the spirit of it is to spread the word, so while I'm sure most of your guys know about it, here you go. More info~ This link is... half-working for me, so I'll still post it. It's not a perma-link, which is sad, but. [link]

And then, of course, Wikipedia's nice little blurb on it. [link]

Anywho. Yup. If you live in the US, and you know your senators/house representatives are against the bill, go yell at them in an angry email! If you aren't in the US, follow Wikipedia's instructions:

"Contact your local State Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, or similar branch of government. Tell them you oppose SOPA and PIPA, and any similar legislation. SOPA and PIPA will affect sites outside of the United States, and actions to sites inside the United States (like Wikipedia) will also affect non-American readers -- like you. Calling your own government will also let them know you don't want them to create their own bad anti-Internet legislation."

Have a nice day! Be nonviolent and stuff!

Or, for you people who don't even celebrate new year's, have a wonderful day!

In the meantime I'm sure some of you watching me have noticed complete dump of art that happened. Yes, that's what I've been up to this past month mainly. Giiiifts. And I have to say I had a rather wonderful christmas myself, although it's been pretty modest. Bright side is I have a shirt with Chell and Glados on it now. And another shirt that has Finn and Jake. :dummy:

I have to say I'm probably going to lay a little lower on the artsy side for a few weeks out. The term's ending, I've got some not-quite-art stuff to do, finals coming up, homework, yadda yadda yadda.

Soooo, yup. I'll still be checking dA and all, but output from me is going to be less. Probably.

After that I should probably return to finishing my dress for prom... besides birthday presents and the like that crop up here and there as time marches onward.

Oooh, right, and I got the leading female role in my school's play. So I'm going back to 8-6 days pretty soon. Which as always leaves even less time for arts.

So yup.

Also wish me luck. I've got all my college applications in and I am just so curious to see if I'm accepted. not to mention hey it's my future but I'm just curious. oh, me. what ever shall I do?

Anywho.

Have a wonderful end of the year, guys, and give the new one the start it deserves! Judging by my friends, that means sleep for an extra 5 hours!

In... non-consecutive order, here.

General things get first go, just 'cuz. As I have stated before, and will state again, I love you all. Uuur, now that the important thing is said, less important things for those of you who like reading about other people's lives. I'm making my way through the school year with all sorts of projects cropping up everyplace I turn. It's all so exciting, but my energies are getting spread thinly. In the next couple of weeks I plan to focus into projects that deal with the upcoming holiday season. Becaaaaauuuse, that always takes a long time.

Which brings me to gifts! I'm not promising anything, but if there's anything in particular you want art of, I wouldn't mind knowing. ;) Since I plan on making a lot of gifts this year, I figure I might as well make it easy for anyone looking to show their appreciation for me if they don't know me so well. 'Coz... well... I dunno. I haven't written a wishlist in a while, I guess.

1.) Art of the pokemon Natu

2.) A lil' something for Christian or Clarisse

3.) In-depth critiques on newer pieces of art. How I crave these. Uuh. For this one, I guess, stick to newer illustrations? Like Christian's app, or the HPM promo art I did.

That's a short list. Of course, if you're feeling creative, by all means, do something I'll never see coming.

Which brings me to my next point...  Groups. Right now, I'm not really active in either of them. Slowly working on sketches for HPM, and then there'll be gifts for PKMC people, but other than thaaaat... *sigh* I'm sorry for being late in replying to notes and comments and stuff... I'm trying to get through a couple of larger-replies-necessary ones per day, though, so I'm working on it! Just, slowly.

Games have been intoxicating lately... I finished LA Noire, which because of AP English I now know is written like an epic poem... and reminds me a lot of Paradise Lost. You'd think it'd be hard to be like Satan, buuuut, not really. Hats off to you, Phelps, but you were an idiot. Then, I floundered through a gym or two before dying on my first Nuzlocke try ever... I'm going to try again. And, finally, got Skyward Sword. They didn't murder the bird animations! There are occasional flight inconsistencies when comparing with reality, but not enough to make it look "wrong". The style, hooweee, they spent a lot of time on polishing the look; it's a bit sad that it all kinda looks like the Hundred Acre Woods from Kingdom Hearts and other games... Overall, the style is very pleasing, but overwhelmingly I feel like the game was designed for a younger audience. Not that there's anything wrong with that-- I'm still gonna play the game, and it's still interesting so far in details and such-- it's just I abhor repetition. It grates on my nerves faster than anything else I can think of. And when I hear "come this way!" three different times for the same segment of a quest, I begin to get a little mad.

Finally; time... I have little of it. I'm juggling too much and I'm having trouble focusing, and that's not only unfamiliar to me but frustrating and scary. So, if I'm late or anything, I'm sorry for that, but for my own sanity I have to focus on things like school and relaxing so I don't go insane before I get to my responsibilities here.

So yep. That's the peek into my life for you now. So, uh, yup.

Thank you all. Every single one of you watching, all 235 of you. I mean, really. Truly. I thank you.

Go look at the back of my "browse" gallery. Go see the earliest crash I have back there. It's, indeed, crash. I mean, maybe you don't think it is, whatever. But that's not the point. Go look at the front of the "browse" now.

Look at all that growth! On my years in dA, I've improved so much. I've learned to adore reference books. I've grown to be able to embrace the advice the tutorials out there give. I've seen art from some of you, I've made friends, I've changed schools, I've been here through such personal growth and blossoming... Not all of that is what I'm thanking you guys for, but...

I've been a member of dA for 1321 days. That's three years, seven months, and twelve days. I've made 300 deviations. There are an average of fourteen comments per deviation I've made.

About half of those are me, I think, since I'm not sure how dA calculates that. But my goodness. Seven comments per deviation? My goodness you guys.

I just wanna take this time to say that I would not be where I am artistically without all you guys. Without your occasional faves, without your occasional "wow, that's cool"s... Hell, I mean, I wouldn't even be needlefelting without a lot of you guys.

Thank you. Guys, just... just know I appreciate. I'm busier than I should be, I should reply to more comments, I should do more giftart, I should I should I should...

I guess right now I'm trying to focus on learning in my eclectic way of mine. Because I am going to grow up and tell stories, and hopefully I'll be able to give back through that.

Just hope you guys who have been there get to see this. It's for you guys.
